Vietnam’s Park Hang-Seo, the Thai player to watch out for… Dangda, powder bullet
With Vietnam, led by coach Park Hang-seo, scheduled to face Thailand in the Southeast Asian Cup final, goal scorer Thirasil Dangdawa and side defender Nirathon Boonmatan are considered targets for the Thai team.
Vietnam will play the first leg of the 2022 ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Mitsubishi Electric Cup (Mitsubishi Cup) final at My Dinh National Stadium in Hanoi, Vietnam at 9:30 pm (Korean time) on the 13th. The second game will be held at the same time on the 16th. The team with better results in the first and second games will win the championship.
The opponent, Thailand, won 3 wins and 1 draw in Group A of the group stage and advanced to the semifinals as first place in the group. The only draw came against Indonesia led by Shin Tae-yong. Thailand showed off its one-up skills by winning 5-0 (Brunei), 4-0 (Philippines), and 3-1 (Cambodia) in all other matches except for Indonesia.
In the semifinals, Thailand recorded 1 win and 1 loss against Malaysia under coach Kim Pan-gon, but advanced to the final ahead of goal difference.
Thailand’s leading player is by far the goal scorer, Tirasil Dangdada. Dangda is the top scorer in the tournament with 6 goals.
Dangda is a 35-year-old veteran and a tall front-line striker. He has scored 61 goals in 122 appearances for the Thai national team. Dangda is second after Kiatisuk Senamuang (134 matches) in the A-match appearance record, and third in A-match scoring following Senamuang (71 goals) and Piapong (70 goals).
Dangda also advanced to the English Premier League. He joined Manchester City when former Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Thaksin took over Manchester City, but did not play. Dangda later played for Grasshopper in the Swiss League, Almeria in the Spanish La Liga, Hiroshima and Shimizu S-Pulse in the Japanese J-League.
Dangda is showing off his skills, goal-making ability, ball-keeping ability, and powerful shooting ability compared to other Southeast Asian players in every game. Dangda is expected to be intensively checked by the Vietnamese defense.
The player who provides Dang Da with a scoring opportunity is Boon Ma Tan. 안전놀이터
A 33-year-old veteran, Boonmatan plays as a left-back and is involved in both offense and defense. Boon Matan, who played in 81 A matches and scored 6 goals, plays a key role in Thai game management with his skill.
Boon Matan improved his skills in the Japanese J-League. He played for Japan’s Vissel Kobe and Yokohama Marinos from 2018 to 2021. Bunmatan played as the core of the team in Yokohama and led the championship.
Boonmatan scored the opening goal in the 19th minute of the first half against Malaysia in the second leg of the semifinals with an accurate cross to Dangda.
In the Vietnam War, Dang Da and Boon Ma Tan are expected to work together and aim for the goal. It is predicted that coach Park Hang-seo’s ability to block the two veteran combinations will be the key to victory.
