Kim Jae-hyeon, ‘Cannon Heater’, the protagonist of Shinbaram baseball, returns to LG after 19 years

Cannon Heater’ Kim Jae-hyeon (48) returned to the professional baseball LG Twins after 19 years.

The LG Twins announced on the 29th that they had appointed Kim Jae-hyeon, sporty baseball commentator, as the power reinforcement coordinator. 안전놀이터

According to the club, Coordinator Kim will be active in various fields to give advice on the front and the overall team in the future and to strengthen strategic functions within the front.

After graduating from Shinil High School, Kim joined LG in 1994, and contributed to the team’s second Korean Series victory by hitting 20 homers and 20 stolen bases that year, and was awarded the Outfielder Golden Glove. He debuted in the same year and played an active part in the so-called ‘Shinbaram Baseball’ with former coach Yoo Ji-hyun and former coach Seo Yong-bin, who received the rookie award.

He retired from active play in 2010 after transferring to SK Wyverns (predecessor of SSG Landers) in 2005. His professional career results are a batting average of 0.294, 201 home runs, 939 runs batted in, and 1681 hits.

After his retirement, he served as hitting coach for the Yomiuri Giants, Hanwha Eagles and the national team, and also served as a technical committee member for the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO).

Coordinator Kim said, “I am excited to return to LG. There are many players and coaches with outstanding abilities in the club,” he said.
