Jeong Soo-bin’s son is Doosan’s “stomach”…Team first spirit in leadoff that made the national team batsman smile

“I feel like I’m the belly of the team, and the team needs me.”

Doosan Bears outfielder Jung Soo-bin became a “dad” on the morning of Dec. 13. It’s been a year and nine months since he tied the knot with Sa Dong-hee on December 4, 2021. It was the happiest day of his life as he saw his adorable son (Tae-myung baby Sudal-i) come into the world.먹튀검증

On December 12, a day before the birth, Jung Soo Bin said, “It’s a boy. I’m excited and looking forward to it. I feel like I have more responsibility. I feel like I have a responsibility. I feel like I have to play baseball harder and play it for a long time.” He also expressed his happiness before becoming a father.

Jung Soo-bin initially told the coaching staff that he would return to the baseball field immediately after his wife’s birth on the 13th to play in the SSG Landers and Jamsil home games. The KBO implemented a maternity leave system starting in the 2019 season, allowing players to be by their family’s side during the birth of a child without losing their first-team roster spot, but Soo-bin expressed his desire to be on the field with his teammates as the team is currently in the midst of a fierce fall baseball competition.

Doosan has recently won three straight games and is in sixth place, two games behind the fourth-place KIA Tigers and fifth-place SSG. With the team desperate for a win in every game, Jung Soo-bin emphasized that he will play even on the day of the game.

For Doosan manager Lee Seung-yeop, Jung was essential to the team’s chances of winning. In 112 games this season, Jeong is batting .285 (117-for-410) with two home runs, 29 RBIs and 28 stolen bases, while also playing one of the best defenses in the league in center field.

After struggling at the plate in the last two years, he has been dedicated to Doosan’s fall baseball program. Against the Hanwha Eagles on Sept. 12, he went 3-for-5 with a home run, a double, three runs scored, and one stolen base, leading Doosan to an 8-3 victory and a three-game winning streak.

“I will come to the ballpark (on the 13th) no matter what. We’ll see if I can play from the beginning of the game or if I’ll be in the middle of it. The team is competing for the top five, so I have to come and do well,” he said.

However, the heavens prevented Jeong Soo-bin from playing. Doosan’s game against SSG on the 13th was canceled due to rain, giving him a day off to be with his wife and son. Coach Lee Seung-yeop had left Jeong Soo-bin out of the starting lineup before the game was canceled, but the rain prevented the game from taking place and Jeong Soo-bin was able to be with his family in peace.

Lee said, “She can take maternity leave. It’s a family affair and I can’t tell her what to do because I’m a sergeant. It’s up to the player,” and emphasized, “As a veteran, he knows the current team situation, and it’s a home game, so it’s okay that he’s coming (to see his wife and child).”

“Usually, when something good happens to the players, the team is affected in a good way,” he said, adding, “Since his wife gave birth to a healthy baby, I think (his son) is a blessing to our team, and I hope the team as a whole will be happy.”
