Gwangju drinks bitter elixir against Ulsan, seeks 3 points against Gangwon
Gwangju FC will be in the hunt for points against Gangwon FC.
Gwangju FC will host Gangwon FC in the 21st round of the Hana One Q K League 2023 at 7:30 p.m. on July 7 at Gangneung Sports Complex.
Gwangju’s last round was a disappointment. Hosting defending champions Ulsan Hyundai, Gwangju attacked their opponents with tight pressing, attacking, and organizational skills, but conceded a goal from a set piece, resulting in a 0-1 loss.
Despite a six-match unbeaten streak in the league (four wins and two draws), a three-game home winning streak, and an evenly matched game against a strong team with national-level players, Gwangju was unable to get a result. However, the team is determined to make up for it and fight for the three points.
Despite the sweltering weather and two long trips to Gangwon and Jeju, Gwangju is full of confidence. Lee Hee-gyun and Thomas’ aggressive dribbling, as well as Jeong Ji-hoon’s sharp shots from the flanks, energized the attack.
Substitutes Asani and Uhm Ji Sung also attacked Ulsan’s defense with confident play, while Lee played well by linking up with his teammates and making quality passes.
Their opponents, Gangwon, are in 11th place with 13 points from two wins, seven draws and 11 losses. They have been in a bit of a slump lately with no wins in their last 10 league games (3 draws and 7 losses), and Gwangju has the edge in the all-time series with 7 wins, 10 draws, and 5 losses.
However, they can’t afford to let their guard down. Gangwon has super aces in Kim Dae-won and Yang Hyun-joon, along with veterans like Kim Hae-young, Lee Jung-hyeop, and Lim Chang-woo. They also have rising star Lee Seung-won, who led them to a fourth-place finish at the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup and a Bronze Ball, so they are still a force to be reckoned with.온라인바카라
Gwangju will need to be prepared for quick counter-attacks from their opponents’ flanking resources, and utilize their aggressive pressing and attacking tempo to get the win.
It will be interesting to see if Gwangju can turn things around with a win against Gangwon.
