Choi Ji-Man returns from injury, hits for first time in 88 days
Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Ji-Man Choi returned from injury to get his first hit in 88 days.
On Sept. 9 (ET), Choi batted fifth in the lineup against the Arizona Diamondbacks of Major League Baseball (MLB) in Arizona, USA, and went 1-for-4. Choi’s batting average increased from 0.111 to 0.125.
Choi joined Pittsburgh after being acquired from the Tampa Bay Rays prior to the season. He was sidelined for more than two months with an Achilles injury in his left foot in April, and recently returned to the lineup and recorded his first hit in two games.
Choi, who was hitless in his previous three at-bats, singled in the extra inning. With the teams tied 1-1 in the top of the 10th inning, Choi stepped to the plate with the bases loaded and no outs and lined an 85.9-mph (138.2-kilometer) splitter from right-hander Scott McGuff to right field.온라인바카라
